To Furlough or not to Furlough ……that is the question.
“Whether tis nobler to put an employee on temporary leave with the promise of a return due to the hope of an outrageous change in fortune”
…….I am of course plagiarizing words of Macbeth’s soliloquy and recent events across every sphere of life personal and business runs much deeper than a Shakespearean tragedy …with no end in sight
I will not be using the C Word (talk of the virus is understandably endless ), neither will I tell you how to “structure your day” as many LinkedIn members are happy to impart their unparalleled wisdom on how to work from home blah blah blah whilst inadvertently showing you their tastes in soft furnishings in the backdrop of their videos ….how nice.
The subject of being furloughed is a constant feature in many conversations I have had across my network ……. I do wonder if this initiative allows companies to delay the inevitable redundancy of some of their employees – especially in the recruitment industry where consultants are judged by the revenue, they have generated for a business
I hope that if you have been Furloughed that a return to work will be sooner rather than later.
